Join us for another season of fun with the YMCA Basketball Academy! The main goal of this league is to introduce our elementary school kids to the sport of basketball, and give them an opportunity to learn and practice the game in a fun & safe environment. Parents can anticipate having a practice once per week, with games on Saturdays at the YMCA or Handy Middle School.

Parents can anticipate having a 1-hour practice once per week, as well as a 1-hour game on Saturdays. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will play at the YMCA, and all other grades will play at Handy Middle School. 7th & 8th grade schedules will be dependent on overall registrations.

Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.
