Cooking Classes

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, the Y has a brand new kitchen! We will be offering cooking classes for our community in the coming year.

Coco Cooking Class

Saturday, September 19
9:30 AM–11:00 AM

Celebrate family, music, and delicious treats in this Coco inspired cheesecake cooking class! Young chefs will step into a vibrant, festive kitchen inspired by the Land of the Dead as they create their own beautifully decorated Coco Cheesecake.

Participants will learn how to mix, whip, and build a creamy cheesecake while adding colorful touches inspired by the film think marigold petals, guitar motifs, sugar-skull decorations, and bright fiesta colors. Throughout the class, kids will enjoy music, themed activities, and plenty of sweet, creative fun.

Financial AsSistance Programs

Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.

There is a reduced joining fee. $25 for Youth/Teen, $25 for Adult, and $50 for Household memberships.
