Give Local Bay

GIVE LOCAL BAY May 7, 2024 Donate Here GIVE LOCAL BAY Give Local Bay is a 24-hour online giving campaign to raise funds for favorite local charities. It unites our community in supporting our local nonprofits, agencies, and parks in Bay and Arenac counties. Your donations help these nonprofits build their endowment funds at Bay Area Community Foundation so that they are able to provide for many generations to come. Donate on May 7 and your gift will be increased by a match pool and incentive prizes thanks to our community sponsors! The more you help each nonprofit raise, the more match money they receive. We are better together! Seeing our child care programs in action, families enjoying the facility, or volunteers and staff distributing meals, you see the impact that the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA has on the community. In a time when division challenges the world and our neighborhoods, leaving people feeling divided, isolated and alone, it is more important than ever to have places like our YMCA to bring people together. Our fundraising efforts ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from YMCA services, regardless of their ability to pay. Last year 337 families came to our YMCA thanks to the donations received from people like you. Donate Here Every donation to the Y has a chance to win a Stanley cup! Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo. Objective Eliminate all opposing players by getting them “out”, to do so…Hit opposing player with “live” ball thrown below the shoulders.Catch “live” ball thrown by an opposing player before it touches ground (“live” ball means: a ball thrown that has not touched anything including ground, another ball, another player, wall, ceiling, basketball hoop, etc.). Opening Rush Balls will be placed on center line; each team is behind their designated lines; on whistle, get as many dodgeballs as you can. Boundaries During play all players must stay in the court, but may leave to retrieve stray ball but must return in through their teams end-line, leaving the court without the purpose of retrieving a stray ball will result in that player being “out.” Center Line If you step over the center line at any point, you are out. Time 20-minute playing periods or best two games out of three, whichever comes first. Time-Outs There are no time outs, except for injuries Winning The team to win the most games (eliminating all 6 opposing players equals one win) in the 20 minute playing period, moves forward in the winner bracket. If games won are tied with five minutes left in the playing period, the team with the most players on the court at the 20-minute mark is the winner. “Outs” Once a player is out, they remain out until the next game in the 20-minute playing period begins. Catching a ball thrown by an opposing player does not bring an “out” teammate back into the game. 5-Second Rule It is a violation if one team has all of the balls on their side for more than five (5) seconds. Blocking Player can defend by blocking or hitting a ball away with another ball. The player must hold on to the ball they blocked with in order not to be considered out. If ball is dropped after blocking that player will be out. Headshots Any player who throws a ball that hits an opponent’s head is out. If someone is hit in the head with a ball, they are not out. Substitutions There are no substitutions during a game unless of injury. After the current game in the playing period, you may change the line up for the next game. Uniforms Teams are encouraged to organize family friendly team shirts on their own. Sportsmanship All YMCA members, staff, program participants, and spectators are expected to practice the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. We ask that kids and adults participants who are “out”, remain honest and exit the playing floor even in the event that the referee may have missed the hit.
