Dow Bay Area Family YMCA Personal Training will give your fitness an upgrade! All personal trainers either have a 4 year degree in an exercise related field, or have various certifications in CPR, AED, Sports and Fitness, and Personal Training.

Whatever your specific needs we can work with you by helping to identify your goals and then custom designing a workout plan centered on those goals. Our trainers are passionate about what they do.

They are here for you, offering motivation, encouragement, and accountability every step of the way to a new you. We want to see you succeed, which is why we provide hour and half-hour-long personal training sessions. Please click here to view our options and rates at the bottom of the page. I understand that if I make an appointment with a trainer and need to cancel the appointment, I must give at least a 24 hour notice. If I fail to do so, I understand the cost of the appointment can be charged to my account. Please submit completed forms to the Assistant Director of Sports and Wellness. Completed forms will be contacted by a trainer within 2-3 business days. To purchase sessions, please see the Front Desk. Thank you!

Fitness Assessments

Fitness Assessments will assess your body composition via skin folds or bio-electrical impedance analysis, BMI, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, waist-to-hip measurements, and blood pressure.

Our trained Wellness Staff will review your results with you that same day and give you recommendations for improvement.

Fitness Assessments will take about 20-30 minutes.

NEW! Outdoor Personal Training

We are now offering outdoor personal training at our YMCA! Our personal trainers are happy to meet with you to get back to work and meet your fitness and wellness goals! They will have acccess to select equipment, including dumbbells, resistance bands, steppers, and light plates.

Together with your personal trainer, you can complete bodyweight exercises, work on your strength exercises, and burn energy!

Rates for outdoor personal training will be the same as our standard rates. Please see the options further down the page to find the rates best suited for you. Please note that for best social distancing practices, Buddy Sessions will not be honored at this time. Muscle Recovery Personal Training is also currently unavailable.

Participants will receive a call from a personal trainer to discuss their goals and also to get a feel for what type of workout equipment they have at home. The personal trainer will plan the workouts with this information. Trainers will be using the Zoom platform to connect with clients. If you would like instructions on how to use Zoom, please  see this document.
