Group X Classes

ALL HEALTH & WELLNESS CLASSES ARE FREE FOR YOU, OUR MEMBERS

We are passionate about providing you quality, heart-bumping exercise classes for those of you just starting your fitness journey, to novice and expert athletes. We are here for Healthy Living for ALL.

We want to provide you free Group Exercise Classes as a part of your membership, even though we are not currently charging membership dues during our facility closure. Below is the schedule that we were going to use for Phase 1 of our reopening. We would like to continue offering it to you as a transition for when we will all be back together in our Y again! Please make sure to use the reservation system below.

Sign Up

We are limiting participants per class to promote proper physical distancing. We ask that you reserve your spot for all group exercise classes at least one hour in advance at this time.

How to Use the Reservation System

  1. To make a reservation, please enter your information in all available fields below.  These fields are linked to our active membership database.
  2. Once all information is entered, the member scheduler will appear!  You can look ahead at the week to see classes/areas for which you would like to register.  You can search by date, class/lap lane, or instructor.
  3. Once you find the option you want, click Book! You will then receive a message that you will be receiving a confirmation email, and the site will ask if you would like to book more appointments.
  4. If you need to cancel your appointment, please log into the reservation system and select the “My Appointments” tab to manage your booked appointments.

AOA - Range of Motion

This class is specifically designed for older adults who would like to increase strength, range of motion, agility, balance, and coordination as well as improve overall health.

A great way to meet new people and socialize.

This class is offered being offered at the Pavilion at Wenonah Park beginning Tuesday, June 30th.

Breakfast Club Boot Camp

Rise and shine, it’s workout time! Get your day started with a serving of plyometrics, cardio, and full body strength training exercises served with a side of core.

This class is being offered in the South Parking Lot at the YMCA.

Bootcamp

An interval training class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training.

Enhance Fitness

This group exercise program helps older adults at all levels of fitness to become more active, energized, and able to maintain their independence. Each one hour class focuses on cardiovascular exercise, strength training, balance, and flexibility. Enhance Fitness® is an evidence-based program proven to increase strength, boost activity levels, and elevate mood.

Mon/Wed 10:00 - 11:00 am

This class is being offered at the Pavilion at Wenonah Park.

Guts and Glutes

Exercises will target your entire core and lower body. Come tone your hips, thighs, glutes, and get abdominally toned! Exercises may focus on other muscle groups as well for variety.

Wed 8:45 - 9:45am

This class is being offered in the South Parking Lot at our YMCA.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Interval training has been proven to be an effective method to improve cardiovascular conditioning and burn fat. Periods of intense aerobic activity are interspersed with brief rest periods. In all HIIT classes Cardio, strength and ab intervals will be thrown in and mixed up each week to keep your body on its toes. Each muscle group is worked to fatigue using a circuit format that incorporates cardiovascular segments to keep the heart rate elevated. Weight can be adjusted for various fitness levels and modifications will be shown for cardiovascular segments.

HIIT Spin

Like High Intensity Interval Training, this spin class will be mixed with periods of high cardio and periods of lower cardio to raise your heart rate!

Thurs 6:00-7:00pm

This class will be offered in the South Parking Lot at our YMCA.

Morning Hustle

Get your day started with this cardio and strength training fitness class! Your muscles will be pulsing after this interval training.

Yoga

Yoga is an energizing and exhilarating experience where traditional poses are combined with athletic principles to improve strength, flexibility, and balance. All levels welcome.

Mon 6:00 – 7:00 pm

This class is being offered on the Grassy Knoll outside of the North Entrance of our YMCA.

Run Mix

Build your endurance and stamina through this class aimed at teaching you to run farther distance. We will come from a low mileage of walking and running to completing 5K distances and longer! Some leg and core workouts at the beginning and ends of classes to make sure our muscles stay conditioned and ready to take on the longer miles!

Tues 5:15-6:15pm

This class is being offered in-person only and will be outside. Please meet in the South Parking Lot by the Check In Table.

Spinning

This hour-long ride provides a great cardio workout designed to challenge you by incorporating hills, climbs, sprints, and standing climbs. An energetic and heart healthy workout. All fitness levels welcome.

Tai Ji for Health

Tai Ji (Chi) has been practiced in China for centuries for health, meditation, and as a martial art. Research has shown that this Tai Ji program can help reduce the effects of arthritis, lower blood pressure, strengthen the immune system and the heart. Tai Ji has been practiced in China for centuries for health, meditation, and as a martial art.  This class is tailored to senior citizens, or those recovering from an injury or illness. Tai Chi for Health will now be a 12- week program and the first 6 weeks will focus on Level 1 ability followed by Level 2 in the final 6 weeks.

This class is being offered at Carroll Park behind the Tennis Courts.

Total Body Sculpt

Looking for a weight training class to tone up your figure? This class will focus on shaping and sculpting your body with the most current fitness equipment!

Yoga with Luis

This yoga class focuses on breathing practices and finding your flow between movements. This class will leave your mind clear and your body strong.

Zumba

Experience an absolute blast of exhilarating caloric burning, muscle pumping, energizing dance movements meant to engage the entire body. No dance experience required!
