The season lasts 7 weeks in total. Practice starts the week before the first game, so teams can get two practices under their belt before game time.

Games will run on Saturdays from November 8th to December 20th, with a break on November 29th for Thanksgiving. The game day schedule will ultimately depend on the total number of registrations and teams.

Most years, games run anywhere from 8am to 4pm.

The games will be played at either the YMCA or Handy Middle School. The younger divisions (Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade) play at the YMCA gym and the older divisions (3rd – 8th grade) play at Handy.

The YMCA is located at 225 Washington Ave. Bay City, MI 48708.

Handy Middle School is located at 601 Blend St. Bay City, MI 48706.

Practices can start the week of October 26th. The practice day/time for each team is determined by the volunteer coach.

While we can try our best to accommodate practice requests, it is hard to guarantee a certain day/time.

Divisions are broken down as follows:

  • Kindergarten (Co-ed)
  • 1st & 2nd grade
  • 3rd & 4th grade
  • 5th & 6th grade
  • 7th & 8th grade

The 1st – 8th grade divisions will be further split into boys & girls (i.e. 1st & 2nd grade girls and 1st & 2nd grade boys, etc.). We try to group kids by school, while also considering teammates & coach requests. Please note that these requests are not guaranteed.

Our registration form includes a spot to add one teammate request. These are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone.

For every league, we have early registration and late registration pricing. Early registration opens in September, with late registration beginning in October. The registration prices will be listed below.

If you can’t afford the registration fee, the YMCA has a generous sports scholarship fund – Jeff Buczek Memorial Scholarship (link) – that can be applied to each league season. This scholarship will pay up to 100% of the registration fees.

If you have additional questions on our scholarships, please contact Joslyn Jamrog, Membership Director, at jjamrog@ymcabaycity.org

  • Early Registration: $70 for Y-members, $95 for non-members.
