Participants will have the opportunity to observe a variety of local species in parks within walking distance of the Y and will be provided with strategies and information on where and when to practice their new skills.
Program participants will learn basic identification techniques built around a proven method for identifying species based on a wide variety of factors, including habitat observations, food and shelter needs, and behavioral characteristics, enabling them to progress rapidly in this lifelong activity.
All ages are welcome. Located in the Family Center.
YMCA Facility Update
We’re happy to share that the Y will resume normal hours January 30th at 5:00 AM. Our 24/7 Fitness area will reopen , January 29th at 9:00 PM.
Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.
There is a reduced joining fee. $25 for Youth/Teen, $25 for Adult, and $50 for Household memberships.
