Emergency Food Box

Thanks to partnerships with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and Hopevale Church, the United Way of Bay County, and the COVID-19 Community Response Fund at the Bay Area Community Foundation, we offer a delivery service for our Emergency Food Boxes.

We understand that some families may not be able to leave their homes at this time, but we remain vigilant in helping to feed our community. Families or individuals with limited mobility may now choose to have their Emergency Food Box delivered to them rather than pick it up at our YMCA.

For more information, dial 2-1-1 (or 888-636-4211) to participate and be referred to a location to receive a food box. This number reaches 211 of Northeast Michigan which can provide other valuable information regarding where to find various local food pantries or food distribution services.

How it works:

To pick up a food box please either:

  • Call us at 989-895-8596 during our business hours to schedule a pick-up time. Pick-up times are from 5pm to 8pm, Monday-Thursday, 5pm-7pm on Friday, and 9am – 4pm on Saturdays.

To schedule a food box delivery please:

  • Call us at 989-895-8596 during our business hours and provide your information for delivery.
  • Deliveries are made on Mondays and Thursdays.

Limit of 1 Emergency Food Box per family per week.

Emergency Food Boxes are made possible through a grant provided by the Bay Area Community Foundation and partnerships with Hidden Harvest, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and 211.
