Dive into our Lifeguard certification course today! This is a blended-learning class. Some of the instruction will take place online and practical training will take place in the pools at our YMCA and Delta College. Students will be certified with the American Red Cross.
Lifeguard candidates learn the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in and around the pool facility.
Candidates must attend all classes. Candidates must be 15 years of age before or on the last class day.
Participants will receive an Introduction Letter via email once all participants are registered. Please be sure your email is up to date so that you receive this letter. The letter contains information about the course as well as a link to the Blended Learning module and information about the prerequisite tests. Participants must complete the online portion and successfully pass their prerequisite tests prior to the first on-site session date. Failure to do so will result in dismissal from the course.
