Inspired by Ashtanga and Vinyasa practices, this class incorporates some rhythmic movement along with breath, while focusing on an awareness of the body’s sensations and use of proper bodily alignment. Students are individually challenged in sun salutations, peak poses, and deep stretches – all with the intention of cultivating a deeper acceptance, awareness, and balance in both mind and body.
Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.
