Growing up I never took much interest in sports or physical activity beyond being part of the swimming team in grade school. My family wasn’t into sports or fitness, so it was very foreign to me.
However, after having my kids, I started jogging and using a Nordic track to lose baby weight in my mid 20’s and it was there that I caught the fitness bug. I started doing Aerobic videos and settled into running longer distances and watching my pace for improvement. I found fitness to be a great way to stay healthy as well as a stress reliever.
I eventually transitioned to distance running and completing marathons were in found the training aspect of it therapeutic and it kept me on track. I qualified to run Boston in 2020 as my 10th marathon, but I never made it due to the Covid pandemic. Boston is still on my bucket list.
I joined my first gym in 2016, Fit Body Bootcamp and never looked back! I fell in love with strength training and group exercise, and that is where I have met some of my favorite people.
I want to share my love of fitness and health with others, so I am excited to become part of a great team of personal trainers at the YMCA.
