Job Title: Housekeeping/Maintenance Staff

Reports to: Facilities Director

Status: Part-time (flexible – 15-20 hours per week)

Schedule: Flexible hours – some weekend, early morning or evening shifts may be required

Compensation: $9.45 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Housekeeping/Maintenance Staff are responsible for the overall cleanliness and general appearance of the YMCA facility and grounds and ensuring that we provide a safe and pleasant experience for everyone using our facility.

JOB DETAILS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain all areas of the YMCA in a clean, presentable fashion
  • Clean locker rooms, restrooms, and childcare areas as scheduled
  • Replenish bathroom and locker room supplies
  • Clean, fold, and distribute towels
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
  • Empty trash and recycling
  • Clean rugs and carpets
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • Set up and tear down tables and chairs for meetings, events, and facility rentals
  • Clean sidewalks and parking lots
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks and walkways
  • Complete minor repairs of interior/exterior building and exercise equipment, paint walls, replace lighting, and perform preventative maintenance as directed
  • Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the facility

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience and/or training in maintenance/facilities work preferred
  • Ability to engage and interact with co-workers, members, and guests from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
