Job Title: Fall Human Resources Intern

Reports to: Senior Director-Human Resources  

Seasonal Position: August 2022– December 2022

Schedule: 10-15 hours per week (flexible daytime hours Monday-Friday)

Compensation: Work Experience (unpaid), Free Y Membership during internship


This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The intern will provide business management support for the HR department, working directly with the Senior Director of Human Resources. The internship is an opportunity to gain hands on experience working as an integral member of the administrative team at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA.


  • Complete various special projects within the HR department
  • Organize HR records, help with new hire orientation and on-boarding
  • Help aid in the process of performance reviews
  • Sit in on potential employee job interviews
  • Perform tasks related to facilitating employee communication
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Outlook) – with strong skills in Excel
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Resourcefulness, ability to take initiative, and to work both independently and as a team member
  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to handle financial and other personal information in a confidential manner
